Affirmations

An affirmation is a positive statement that you repeat to yourself, either aloud on in your head.

Practicing affirmations is a great way to reprogram your subconscious mind.  Which can often be littered with self doubt and negativity.

There are numerous books and websites where you can find affirmations.  I find, however, that writing my own is really best.

I try to say them everyday, when you wake up or before sleep is probably best, but there is no wrong time.

Agree to disagree

Everything that we say and do, think and feel, hear and see is influenced by our own filter.  While it may be true that we find people who share similar experinces, no one sees things the same way.

This seems obvious, right?
But there is an amazing lesson here when it comes to dealing with relatonships.

Often arguments between two people are caused by an overidentification with ones perceptions or opinions.  When this happens, we begin to feel threatened by opposing viewpoints.  Thus, when we are "challenged" by another's view, we react defensively, which does nothing but block communication, disrespect the other party, and welcome its karmic balance... offense!

It is important to realize when we are overidentifying with or defending our ego.  When we do this, we are missing the connection win another person or persons.  Individuals just as unique, intelligent, beautiful, and worthy as ourselves.  And that is a travesty.

So try practicing this technique.
Agree to disagree.

There are no battles to lose
Only love and acceptance to be gained.

When life give you "problems", see lessons

There is a lesson in all that happens
each experience can teach us something vital
each catastrophe can help us to learn and avoid them in the future

When you are faced with problems
follow this method
gain the wisdom
hold your personal power
and know that it is the one and only time you must learn this lesson

Find the "golden nugget" of wisdom in everything that you must do
carry it with you, and avoid the same "problems" in the future

Here are some examples
I received a lot of speeding tickets as a young driver
Lesson:  be more cautious, drive slower
Result: This one may have saved my life or the lives of others

My stomach and digestive tract were having serious problems
Lesson:  change your diet, make time for relaxing
Result:  This one has created a new life for me, I now teach others how to become more healthy and eat well, this lesson even created a career for me

These are just two examples.  If I would have reacted with sadness, disdain, and the 'why me' attitude, then I likely would not have a driver's license and would still be taking reflux medication and eating heavily processed nutrient deficient food.  The lesson was so obvious, but you really must take time to reflect and grab the "golden nugget" of wisdom.

Unconditional love and acceptance

This is something that we all want and deserve, however, not many of us are receiving it.
The feeling of conditional love is one of lack, of disempowerment, of feeling not good enough.  Behind the idea of conditional love is the idea that you are unloveable, that only through certain actions or circumstances can you receive love.

This is a preposterous idea! We all deserve unconditional love!

What is the problem, then?

Everything that we see in the world is a reflection of an internal state.  Everyday, I judge myself for doing or not doing something, for not living up to some expectation and so on and so forth.  I am loving myself conditionally.

If you are not able to love yourself unconditionally, then you will never find it from anyone else.

Give yourself the time and the space to foster unconditional love for YOU!
Here is an exercise to try out...

Accept the so called "flaws" - when you notice your mind criticizing your actions, look for the "flaw" that is being picked at.  When you find it, give it space in your mind, take deep breaths, and remind yourself that every part of you serves an important purpose, and thank the characteristic for being there.

An example that I am working on is being more clean and organized in my home.  As I have been accepting this characteristic, I finally have the opportunity to either be at peace with it, or to create a plan to be more clean and organized.  When I am judging and criticizing myself, I am further solidifying it into my being, and making it more painful to address.

If you are able to do this once per day, or numerous times throughout the day, you will be accepting yourself for who you are, the defiinition of unconditional love.

Acceptance is a key to positive change!

We are Electric

Human beings, you and I, are electrical beings.
Our bodies are batteries, we carry a certain charge, we share electrical fields with things and people around us.
Our mood, our wellbeing, our attitude will help decide the quality and charge of our electrical field.

At the center of our electrical bodies, is the idea of an ion.  Ion are charged atoms or molecules.  In other words, they are either positively or negatively charged.

To thrive and feel well, we need to be surrounded by negatively charged ions.  This occurs naturally (in nature).  Plants, stones, gems, crystals, lakes, ponds, even rain creates negatively charged ions, keeping us feeling good and electrically active and balanced.

However, computers, ipods, televisions, and all other items running on electricity create an excess of positively charged ions.  These fields full of positively charged ions are intermingling with your own electrical field.

Here is an easy way to get the picture, take a moment.
How do you feel after an hour of sitting in front of the television?
Now, have you ever watched a movie in the park, while sitting on the grass?
Or played with your IPad while sitting in the grass or in the backyard?

When we are surrounding ourselves with the negative ions we need, we feel that energetic difference, even when we are using electrical items!

Keep this is in mind, realize that everything in moderation really comes into play here.  Try this one exercise everyday for a week, see how you feel.

Step 1:  Go outside.
Step 2:  Find a patch of earth or water source (pond, lake, river, stream, ocean, sand, soil, or stone)
Step 3:  Take off your shoes
Step 4:  Place your feet firmly in sed source
Step 5:  Close your eyes, take 5-infinite deep breaths
Step 6:  Go back to your day to day (don't forget to put your shoes back on)

What you have done is you have drained all of the positively charged residue.  The earth is also an electrical body (or battery), by comingling your electrical fields, you will acheive more balance and feel more free and relaxed.  Have you ever gone to the beach, put your feet in the sand, and then felt somewhwat drowsy almost immediately?  This is a good thing, please try it, it can change your life and health.

Attunement... when it comes to the body.

Have you ever picked up a guitar and tried to play music, only to notice that the guitar was out of tune.  While it does create vibrations, it is impossible to play from your memory.

Or have you ever worked extremely hard with a radio to tune it to just the right frequency.  If it is just a slight bit off, it gives a ringing or tunnel sound or fuzziness.

The same is true with our bodies.
Ask yourself right now, what are you tuned into?
Likely you are tuned in to a lot of static that is flaoting in the ether.  Restless mind, songs playing in the background, feelings of fear, anxiety, and worry.  There are a lot of these feelings out there, and without discernment, we will simply broadcast them in our lives.

However, wouldn't it be nice to resonate with some different feelings?
Say that feeling that you get at a wedding where you know both people involved.
Or the feeling when you wake up and realize there is no work today.

In order to do this, me must attune ourselves to these kinds of energies.
Meditation, mantras, positive affirmations, physical exercise, eating well, resting are some of the most important things that you can do to create a vehicle that is easily attuned.

It is up to you, though, to decide to think differently, to spend time with others who share this high positive vibration, to say no to the worry and anxiety, and to own your power.  This is where attunement occurs.

Fine tune yourself to the frequency of happiness and abundance.
Each small turn of your internal knob gets you closer to that perfect crystal clear sound.

Then you can become an individual that not only receives these vibrations, but broadcasts them as well.

Welcome

All that I post on this blog is based on observation and opinion.
In writing this blog, I am able to share, and further reflect upon my internal monologue.

Through reflection of these topics, it is a goal of mine to attune my subconscious and conscious mind with my higher self.
